Yeh Dilli hai mere yaar!!

what a waste.. a nice idea butchered with horrible screenplay.. this is documentary/musical/fictional piece rolled into one and ended but being nothing, the movie as some wonderful scenes (like the ram leela scenes, the cow scene , climax etc etc) if looked seperately but they just don't gel right from scene one. The whole movie has bits of songs with couple of dialogues sprinkled in between. The best part of the movie is the picturization of 'dil gira dafatan'. One the the best song picturizations i have seen till date. Everybody acted well except abhishek who looked lost all through the movie .. (actually he is supposed to look a bit lost as he is an NRI but he looks too lost not sure when to use an american accent and when not to and what to do in every scene he is in ) Sonam has nothing to do except to look gorgeous and dance with the pigeon and their love story is the most ridiculous part of the movie , remaining characters are all well acted but unfortunately they are too many with none getting enough screen time to make an impact. Its a good idea gone waste, i think Aks was a better movie than this. Only good thing about the movie (ofcourse other than Rehman's music) is its short .. less than 2 and 1/2 hrs but then again try to show the warmth of chandichowk as microcosm of india and to use the wonderful soundtrack may be this movie needed to be a bit long and may be thats what missing here!!!
